How to download your raw DNA file from Sequencing.com

You can upload your whole genome data from Sequencing.com to SelfDecode. The file we accept is the Genome VCF (SNPs + INDELs) file, which contains your full whole genome data.

What’s included with an uploaded file

Uploading your Sequencing.com file gives you the same access as any other third-party DNA file upload. Some SelfDecode reports require a SelfDecode DNA kit and aren’t available with uploaded files, even if your file contains whole genome data.

Reports that require a SelfDecode DNA kit include:

• Whole Genome specific Reports
• Longevity Screener
• Medication Check (PGx) Report
• Family Planning (Carrier Status) Report

Step 1: Log in to Sequencing.com

Go to Sequencing.com and log in with your account email and password.

Step 2: Go to your DNA files

Open the DNA Files section of your account. You'll usually find it on your dashboard or in the top navigation menu.

Step 3: Find your Genome VCF file

In your list of DNA files, look for the file labeled Genome VCF (SNPs + INDELs).

Step 4: Download the file

Click the file to open its details or actions menu, then select Download. The file will download to your device as a compressed file ending in .vcf.gz.

Step 5: Save the file securely

Save the file in a secure location on your computer or cloud storage. Your DNA file contains sensitive personal information, so store it carefully.

Already uploaded a different file?

Each SelfDecode profile holds one DNA file. If you've already uploaded another file and would like to replace it with your Genome VCF, contact us at support@selfdecode.com.
