How to upload your DNA file to SelfDecode
You can upload a DNA file from third-party services like Ancestry or 23andMe to your SelfDecode account. The process depends on whether you're a new customer or already have an account.
For New Customers
If you don't have a SelfDecode account yet:
- Visit the upload DNA file page
- Scroll down and select Upload my DNA file under Upload Your DNA
For Existing Account Holders
If you already have a SelfDecode account and want to upload a DNA file:
Note: You can only upload one DNA file per account. You cannot upload an additional file if you've already uploaded one or ordered a SelfDecode DNA kit.
- Obtain your raw DNA file from the service where you had your DNA tested. For instructions on downloading from specific services:
- Download from Ancestry

Most DNA testing companies have instructions on their websites for obtaining your raw DNA file. A quick web search or call to their customer support team can help.
- Log in to your SelfDecode account and click Analyze DNA File from your dashboard.

Select your file: Click Browse, select your raw DNA file from your computer, choose the name of the service you used from the dropdown menu, then click Upload File.

- Wait for processing: Your DNA file will scan on your dashboard. It's normal for processing to take a couple of hours as we analyze up to 200 million genetic variants. You'll receive an email when your analysis is complete.
