Family Plan Onboarding Guide

We're excited to have you and your family on board! The SelfDecode Family Plan makes it easy to bring your family together under one subscription, so everyone gets their own personalized health insights. Each person has their own profile with DNA reports, recommendations, and tools—so you can all explore your health journeys individually while keeping everything managed in one place.

What's Included in Your Account

How to Sign Up

Watch this quick video tutorial on creating your family plan account:

  1. Visit selfdecode.com/en/family-plan/ and click Get Your Family Plan.
  2. Click Buy Now under the bundle that works best for your family.
    1. You can see what each bundle includes right on the landing page.
    2. Each bundle comes with 3 member profiles and 3 DNA kits. You can add more family members after the initial purchase if needed.
    3. Note: The offer is buy 2, get 1 free, and does not include a discount for a 4th family member.
  3. On the checkout page:
    1. Add any additional DNA kits beyond the included 3. If you want more than 3 kits, you'll need to add extra family members after checkout and pay accordingly.
    2. Enter the email and password you'd like to use to log in. All family members will share this login.
    3. Select your shipping country and state/province carefully—you won't be able to change this on the next screen.
    4. Enter your payment details.
    5. Accept the Terms of Service.
    6. Click Checkout.
  4. After payment, enter the rest of your shipping details. We'll email you when your order ships within a few business days.
  5. On the next page, provide your name. This is the account owner's name and will display on your dashboard.
  6. Congratulations! You've set up your Family Plan. Next, you'll add your family members.

How to Add Family Members to Your Account

Watch this video tutorial on creating profiles for your family members:

  1. Click Add Member.
  2. You'll be taken to a checkout page.
    1. If you have your kits and know the barcode your family member will use, enter it under Use DNA Test Kit From Office. You can also enter the barcode later if your kits haven't arrived yet.
    2. Select any add-on reports. If your package included add-ons, you don't need to select them again—our team will add them after the profile is created.
    3. Click Checkout.
  3. Create your family member's profile by entering their information and clicking Proceed. Only fields marked with * are required.
  4. Your family member's profile will now appear on your dashboard.

If the profile isn't completed after following these steps, click Complete Profile (shown in red) on your dashboard. Do not delete this incomplete profile.

How to Register Your DNA Kits

Watch this video tutorial on registering your family plan DNA kits:

  1. If you've created their profile, register their kit by selecting the blue downward arrow under DNA File on your dashboard and clicking Register DNA Kit.
  2. You can also register the kit during profile creation using the checkout page box.
