Family Plan Onboarding Guide
We’re excited to have you and your family on board! The SelfDecode Family Plan makes it easy to bring your family members together under one subscription, so everyone can get their own personalized health insights.
Each person will have their own profile with DNA reports, recommendations, and tools—so you can all explore your health journeys individually, while keeping everything managed in one place.
This guide will walk you through:
- How to set up your family plan
- How to add family members and assign DNA kits
- How billing and permissions work

How to Sign Up
🎥 Watch this quick tutorial on creating your account!
- Visit https://selfdecode.com/en/family-plan/ and click Get Your Family Plan.
- Click Buy Now under the bundle that you want.
- You can see what each bundle includes right on the landing page.
- Each bundle comes with 3 member profiles and 3 DNA kits. If you want to add on more family members, you can do so after the initial purchase.
- A common question is whether there is a discount on a 4th family member. The offer is buy 2, get 1 free and does not include a discount on a 4th family member.
- On the checkout page:
- Add any additional DNA kits you want beyond the included 3 to get more kits shipped to you. Keep in mind if you want more than 3 kits, you'd have to pay to add on additional family members after the checkout is complete. You will see your pricing in-app.
- Enter the email address and password you'd like to use to log-in. Keep in mind that all family members will share a log-in.
- Select your shipping country and state/province. Please ensure it's correct as it can't be adjusted on the next screen when you enter the rest of your shipping information.
- Enter your payment details.
- Accept the Terms of Service.
- Click Checkout.
- Once you've paid, you can enter the rest of your shipping details. We'll email you when your order ships, within a few business days.
- On the next page, provide your name. This is the name of the Account Owner and will show on the dashboard when you're logged in.
- Congratulations! You've signed up for your Family Plan! In the next tutorial, we'll show you how to start adding members.
How to Add Family Members to Your Account

- Click Add Member.
- You will be taken to a checkout page.
- If you've received your kits and know what barcode the family member will be using, enter the barcode now under Use DNA Test Kit From Office. If you don't have your kits yet, you can always enter the barcode later.
- Select any add-on reports. If your package included add-on reports, you don't need to select them or pay for them again! Our team will add them for you after you've created the family member's profile.
- Click Checkout.
- Create your Member's Profile by entering their information and clicking Proceed. Only fields with * are required.
- You will now see your family member's profile on your dashboard.
If you do not successfully complete the profile by following the steps above after clicking Add Member, you can do so by clicking Complete Profile in red on your dashboard. Complete Profile means the profile was not successfully completed. Please do not delete it.
How to Register Your DNA Kits

- If you've already created their profile, you can register their kit by selecting the blue downward-facing arrow under DNA File on your dashboard and then clicking Register DNA Kit.
- You can also register their kit during the profile creation process using the box on the checkout page.
