How to upload labs

You can upload your lab test results (blood, urine, and saliva markers) to your SelfDecode account for personalized analysis. We offer three upload methods: PDF upload, manual entry, or a paid upload service.

Note: Lab Analyzer only analyzes lab results, not DNA files. To upload a DNA file, see how to upload your DNA file.

Getting Started

  1. Log in to your SelfDecode account and go to the Input Labs page.
  2. Choose your upload method below.

Upload a PDF (Free)

The easiest way to upload your lab results.

  1. Scroll down and select Upload File under 'Or input labs manually'

  2. Click Browse and select your lab result document
  3. Confirm the document name and click Upload

  4. The system will read your document (OCR). Please allow a few minutes for this process. Then review your lab results. Anything highlighted in red needs your attention. You can also edit dates on this page.

  5. Click Analyze Markers.
  6. You'll be taken to your Lab Results page. From here you can generate a PDF of your results or learn what each marker means by clicking marker names in blue.

Note: The OCR (optical character recognition) is a tool to save you from manual entry, but it's not always perfect. Take a moment to review the results and fill in any missing data.

Enter Results Manually (Free)

Choose this option if you prefer to type in your lab values directly.

  1. Select Input Results under 'Or input labs manually'

  2. Enter the test date and type in your marker values. Select the correct marker from the dropdown menu.

  3. When satisfied with your entries, click Analyze Markers

  4. You'll be taken to your Lab Results page where you can view detailed analysis and download a PDF.

Have SelfDecode Upload Your Labs (Paid Service)

If your PDFs aren't accepted by the OCR or you want to save time, SelfDecode can upload your labs for you.

  1. First, review our Lab Upload Service Requirements & Terms
  2. Click Browse under 'Let us input your labs for you' — the cost is $0.50 per page

  1. Confirm the document names you want uploaded and select Proceed
  2. Confirm your order and agree to the charge:

  1. Enter your payment details in the modal that appears (skip if we have your payment method saved).
  2. Wait for us to upload your results—usually takes a few hours, but allow up to 1 business day. You'll receive an email when complete.

Important: If your lab results don't meet requirements, you may not be eligible for a refund. Review the specifications and rejection reasons before uploading.
