Lab Upload Service - Requirements & Terms

Important: Orders submitted for uploading are non-cancellable. We cannot accept cancellation requests.

File Requirements

Your lab documents must meet all of these requirements:

  • File format: PDF, PNG, JPG, or JPEG
  • Page limit: PDF documents must be under 40 pages
  • Required information: The document must clearly show the marker name, collection date, and unit of measure
  • Language: English, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic
  • No password protection: Files cannot be password-protected, even if the password is for editing only
  • Cost: $0.50 per page

Pro Tip: Many free online services can compress PDF files. This is especially helpful if your file contains extra pages unrelated to your lab markers—compressing can save you time and money before uploading.

What Can Be Uploaded?

SelfDecode Labs can analyze most blood, urine, and saliva markers.

Reasons Documents May Be Rejected

Your lab documents may be rejected if any of the following apply:

  1. Unsupported test types: Genotyping, allergen panels, antibiotic panels, MRIs, blood pressure results, or other rare tests.
  2. Instrumental tests: The document describes an instrumental examination rather than a lab test.
  3. Unsupported biomaterials: Oro-/nasopharyngeal swabs, bioptic and bone marrow samples, gastric juice, microbiome results, or similar.
  4. Missing information: The biomarker name, value, unit, biomaterial, date, or analysis location is not specified.
  5. Non-medical documents: The file is not a lab test or instrumental examination.
  6. Animal test results
  7. Multiple results in one file: The document contains results from multiple people, multiple dates, multiple studies, or multiple values of the same biomarker. Submit each result separately.
  8. Poor image quality: The resolution is too low or handwriting is unreadable. Make sure your files are clear and legible.
  9. Previously uploaded: The document has already been submitted for analysis.
  10. Upload error: The file resulted in an error during upload.

Charges and Refund Policy

You'll be charged for analysis when our team opens your document to evaluate whether it can be analyzed—even if the document is ultimately rejected. If your document is rejected for any of the reasons listed above, charges will not be refunded.

To avoid unnecessary charges, review all requirements and rejection criteria above before submitting.
