Lab Upload Service Requirements & Terms

Specifications for requesting lab analysis:

  1. Your documents need to be of the following formats: .pdf, .png, .jpg, .jpeg.
  2. The number of pages in your .pdf documents needs to be under 40 pages.
  3. Your document must have the collection date displayed clearly.
  4. You need to agree to be charged $0.49 per page for each document.
  5. Your file cannot be password protected (even if the file requires a password only for editing).
  6. SelfDecode Labs is equipped to read results for most blood, urine, and saliva markers. See below for types of results we cannot accept or interpret.
  7. Your documents must be in one of the following languages: English, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian, or Arabic.

Your lab documents might be rejected for analysis, if:

  1. It describes genotyping, allergen panels, antibiotic panels, MRIs, blood pressure results, or some other rare tests.
  2. It is an instrumental test.
  3. It describes biomaterials such as some oro-/nasopharyngeal swabs, bioptic and bone marrow samples, gastric juice, microbiome lab results, and a few others.
  4. It doesn’t contain enough information such as the biomarker name, value, unit, biomaterial, date or analysis location aren’t specified.
  5. It’s a non-medical document, not a lab test or instrumental examination.
  6. It’s an animal test result.
  7. It contains results from multiple people, dates, studies or multiple values of the same biomarker in the same file. Make sure to separate your files and request them to be uploaded separately.
  8. It has poor image quality or is in unreadable handwriting. Make sure your image files have high enough resolution and are clear enough to be readable by a human eye.
  9. It has already been digitized before. Make sure that your documents haven’t been requested for analysis before.
  10. It resulted in an error when being uploaded.

For all the cases described above, you will be charged for the analysis if the document gets to a team member doing analysis. This point starts at when we open the document to understand whether it could be analyzed or not.

Make sure that the documents you request for submission correspond to these points in order not to get rejected and for you not to get charged. If the documents don’t correspond to these points, the charges will not be refunded.

Orders submitted to our team for uploading are non-cancelable. We cannot accept cancelation requests.
