For US orders

We will include the return shipping materials that your client will need to return their sample to our lab.

Non-US orders

If your client is not located within the US, you must request their pre-paid return label when you register their kit. If the kit was dropshipped directly to the client, they can request their own label. Please have them follow these instructions to obtain the prepaid return label via email.

  • Some countries are not eligible for a prepaid return label. Please see the most current list here.

Here are the instructions to ship the kit to our lab:

  1. Once the sample has been collected, place it in the biohazard bag.
  2. Put the biohazard bag containing the sample into the SelfDecode box.
  3. Place the entire kit box into the return envelope and seal it securely. If you don't see a return envelope, a standard box or envelope from the courier service of your choice will suffice.
  4. Schedule a pickup or drop your sample off with the correct courier. See your return label for the correct courier (USPS, UPS, local post office, etc.). Please email support@selfdecode.com if you're not sure!

IMPORTANT: If you ordered your kit outside of the US, your kit will be returned to:

Denmark (for EU customers)

United Kingdom (for non-EU customers)

Please use the return label with the appropriate address on it.

All orders placed within the US or Mexico will be returned to the United States.

Links to Schedule Pick-Ups and Find Drop-Off Locations

  • For customers in the United States, schedule a USPS pickup here or drop the kit off at your local post office.
  • If your return label is from UPS, you can schedule pickup here or drop it off at a UPS location.
  • If your return label is designated for your local post office, we recommend reaching out to them directly with any questions regarding drop-off locations or other related inquiries. They can provide specific information about their services and nearest available drop-off points.

Additional Information

When purchasing your own label, we recommend that you select the tracking option offered by the courier. Please be sure to record your tracking number as well, and hold onto it until you receive your results.

If you want to use a different courier, you are welcome to purchase your own return label from them. Please email support@selfdecode.com to confirm the correct shipping address.

If the courier or customs requests any additional information or documentation from you, please email support@selfdecode.com and we will be happy to assist you.

At this time, FedEx has not provided a specific timeline for when services will resume. We will continue to monitor the situation and share updates as they become available.
