DNA Sample Returns Guide
⚠️ IMPORTANT — Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) Kits: If you purchased a WGS kit, it must be returned to our US lab regardless of where you are located. Follow the US return address below, even if you are an international customer.
Overview of the Sample Return Process
- Collect your DNA sample.
- Place the sample in the clear plastic bag or plastic biohazard bag provided with your kit.
- Put the sealed bag into the SelfDecode kit box.
- Place the box into the provided return envelope and seal it securely.
- Affix your return label to the envelope if it didn't come pre-attached.

- Check your return label for courier instructions (USPS, UPS, or local post office).
- Drop off your kit or schedule a pickup with the courier listed on your label.
Return Labels
US Customers
Your kit includes a prepaid USPS return label. Use this to return your kit via the post office. Do not use UPS unless your label specifically says UPS.
You can schedule a USPS pickup or drop the kit off at your local post office.
International Customers
Most international customers can request a prepaid return label. Request your return label here — it will be emailed to you within 3–5 business days.
If you received a prepaid return label inside your kit, use that one instead.
Your DNA sample will not expire while you wait for your return label. Samples remain viable for up to 15 years.
Countries Not Eligible for Prepaid Return Labels
Some countries are not eligible for prepaid return labels. Customers in these locations will need to arrange and pay for their own return shipping. Check the current list of ineligible countries here.
Important Return Rules
- Always use tracked shipping if arranging your own courier.
- Keep your tracking number until you receive your results.
- We do not accept COD (cash on delivery) shipments — they will be rejected and returned to sender.
- Contact support@promicsedge.com if customs requests additional documentation.
- Kit weight: approximately 92 grams.
- UPS, FedEx, and DHL are all reliable courier options for self-arranged returns. Some customers have also used Aramex successfully.

Use the correct return address for your location. Sending your kit to the wrong lab may delay your results.

Australia
It typically takes 10–15 business days for your outbound kit to arrive. Your prepaid return label will be addressed to our UK receiving hub (Milton Keynes). Request your return label after collecting your sample — it will arrive by email within 3–5 business days.
Mexico
Prepaid return labels are not available. Arrange your own return shipping to the US lab address listed above. We recommend choosing tracked shipping through a reliable courier.
India

Family Orders or Bulk Shipments
If you want multiple kits shipped together, place a bulk order. Orders placed separately cannot be combined because fulfillment is automated. Learn about bulk ordering here.
