Does SelfDecode Report on Alzheimer's?
SelfDecode does have an Alzheimer's report. The topic can be found under a special category of reports, called Medical Reports. Unlike DNA Health Reports, Medical Reports show your risk of more sensitive medical conditions.
Access to Medical Reports is not included in a standard subscription and therefore must be purchased. When you purchase Medical Reports, you’ll receive the Alzheimer Disease Report and 40+ other Medical Reports covering serious health topics like Hashimoto’s, Heart Attack, Lupus, and more. Plus, you’ll also receive a 15-minute call with our health expert, who will guide you through your medical results.
See more in our Medical Report FAQ.

For in-depth insights on APOE and other critical genetic variants, tune in to our podcast — The Joe Cohen Show. Don't miss this brief episode that delves into the significance of APOE:
Our reports do not diagnose or treat health conditions. They are not a substitute for medical advice. If you're diagnosed with a certain health condition, follow your doctor's advice.
Things to Remember:
- The scores/gauges use the latest scientific studies, but they are not perfect and will change as the models improve.
- People without risk variants can also develop health conditions.
- Not everyone with risk variants will develop a health condition.
- Genetics is not the whole story. Your health is most often a combination of genetics, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Great news, as this means that you can often change your lifestyle to lower your risk.
- Results might be more accurate for some ethnic groups than others. This depends on the studies used in each report.
Disclaimer: Genetic models analyzing a high volume of variants (PRS models) usually don't take into account variants with large effects, such as APOE-e4. This variant is the strongest genetic factor for Alzheimer’s disease. If you carry it, your predisposition to Alzheimer's disease is higher, regardless of your result for this report.
