If I'm female, why does my DNA file have chromosome Y in it?

Even female DNA files can show some SNPs on the Y chromosome due to the way the genotyping is done. Basically, some reads on chromosome X can map on chromosome Y during the genotyping process because Y and X have multiple regions in common. It does not mean you have a Y chromosome.
