Why are certain SNPs missing?

Some SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) may not appear in your results because they weren't included in your original DNA file or weren't detected clearly during processing.

Why SNPs Are Missing

  • Limited file coverage: While SelfDecode has a large SNP database, the amount of information available depends on what your specific DNA file includes. If your file doesn't contain a certain SNP, we're unable to provide that information.
  • Accuracy concerns: Sometimes we don't get an accurate enough read on a particular SNP during processing. When this happens, we don't report it to ensure we're providing you with reliable information.
