Can you delete my data?
Yes — you can delete your account or specific data anytime by contacting our support team. Just keep in mind that once your data is deleted, it can't be recovered.
How to request data deletion
Email support@selfdecode.com and let us know whether you'd like to delete:
- Your entire account, or
- Only specific data (for example, your DNA file, lab results, or assessments)
Our team will process your request and confirm once your data has been permanently removed.
What to know before you delete
- Download a copy first: once deleted, your data can't be recovered.
- Lab data: after your lab results are uploaded to SelfDecode, the lab destroys its encrypted copy — only SelfDecode keeps your version.
- Deletion is permanent: this action is final and can't be undone.
- Re-upload costs: charges may apply if you delete your DNA file and later want to re-upload it, due to data processing costs.
