How to create a gene pack

Gene packs are a way for you to save groups of related genes and SNPs so that you can find them in one place.

Be sure to check out our tutorial here.

You can also view the following instructions for creating a gene pack.

1. Using the blue magnifying glass at the top of the screen, and type in the name of the gene, SNP, or health topic you're interested in.

2. Click on the name of the gene or SNP in blue to open up its database page.

3. On the database page, click the layered icon to add the gene to a gene pack.

4. You'll see a modal that will allow you to create a new gene pack. Name the pack and type up a description, then click Add to pack to add the gene to your new gene pack.

5. To find your gene packs, navigate to this page or select My SNPs and Genes from the Account dropdown menu at the top of the screen:

For SelfDecode Professionals, your gene packs and saved SNPs will be available under the Professional Tools dropdown menu.
