Do I need to refrigerate my DNA sample?

Good news—you don’t need to refrigerate your DNA sample! Your cheek swab is very stable and can remain in good condition for up to 15 years after collection. Just keep it in a dry, room-temperature environment until you’re ready to send it back to our lab.

A Few Tips

  • Avoid extreme heat or moisture.
  • There’s no special storage needed.
  • While your sample is stable long-term, we recommend mailing it back as soon as possible to get your results faster. 😊
