AI Integration Prompt Guide - PromicsEdge

This guide covers how to write effective prompts when using the PromicsEdge AI integration (MCP) with ChatGPT or Claude, so you get accurate, client-specific outputs every time. Not set up yet? Learn the basics here.

Four Core Rules

1. Connect Your Account First

Make sure your PromicsEdge account is connected before prompting. Setup instructions: ChatGPT | Claude.

2. Always Address Decody by Name

Start every prompt with Decody so the AI activates the integration rather than relying on general knowledge.

"Hey Decody, please access my client [name] and ...."

"Please access my client [name] and..."

3. Always Specify the Client

If you manage multiple clients, always use the client's full name. Without it, the AI may pull the wrong profile.

"...for my client Jane Smith..."

"...for my client..."

4. Reference the Source of Information

Tell Decody which report, lab data, or lifestyle data to draw from. Vague prompts (e.g., "based on her genetics") can lead to arbitrary SNP selection.

"...using her Cardiovascular Health Summary Report..."

"...based on her genetics..."

"...using her relevant lab markers and lifestyle data..."

"...based on her health..."

Pro Tip: For reliable, predictable responses, reference a specific report (e.g., Gut Health Summary Report). For a more exploratory response with additional insights, reference a health area (e.g., gut health genetics).

Hey Decody, please open my client [Full Name] and reference their
[Source of information]. Based on this, [your specific request].

Example:

"Hey Decody, please open my client Jane Smith and reference her Mood & Mental Health report and relevant lab markers. Based on this, give me her top 10 supplement recommendations, and for each one, explain which results are driving the recommendation and why the supplement helps."

Start Small, Then Expand

Complex multi-part requests reduce accuracy. Break them into focused queries instead.

Instead of:

"Considering [client's name] health, give me a full health plan including supplements, diet, lifestyle, labs, fitness, and mental health."

Try a sequence:

  1. "Based on the Health Overview Report for [client name], what are their top 5 supplement/dietary/lifestyle recommendations and why?"
  2. "Based on their Pharmacogenomics report, which medications may require caution?"
  3. "Based on their Longevity Screener, what are the key chronic conditions with a higher risk, and which lifestyle changes should they apply?"

Common Mistakes to Avoid

Mistake Why It's a Problem Fix
Not naming the tool AI may not activate the MCP Always start with "Hey Decody"
Not specifying the client Wrong or no data may be pulled Use client's full name
Not naming the source of info AI picks the source arbitrarily Always reference the source
Asking too many things at once Lower quality, scattered output Break into focused prompts
