Before You Start

For the most accurate and personalized recommendations, we suggest completing your client's intake forms first — especially the Conditions & Goals Questionnaire. The more complete the client profile, the more precise the recommendations become.

How to Access Recommendations

Select Recommendations from the navigation menu at the top of the screen while viewing your client's profile.

How Recommendations Are Ranked

Recommendations are sorted by priority based on how many relevant factors each one addresses:

  • Genetic predispositions — Recommendations targeting your client's high-risk DNA variants are ranked higher
  • Symptoms, conditions & goals — Recommendations that address more of your client's reported health concerns move up the list
  • Lab results — If bloodwork has been uploaded, recommendations targeting non-optimal markers are prioritized
  • Lifestyle assessments — Completed assessments factor into ranking as well

The result is a single, prioritized list that shows you what matters most for each client — starting with the interventions that have the broadest impact.

Top 3 Recommendations

Your client's top 3 recommendations are highlighted at the top of the page. These may seem straightforward, and that's by design — they're backed by extensive research and proven to be highly effective. If they look obvious, it's a sign your client is already on the right track.

Filtering Recommendations

By Type

Use the Supplement, Dietary, and Lifestyle filters to narrow the list to only the type of intervention you want to focus on. This is helpful when you want to build a supplement protocol, adjust a client's diet, or focus on behavioral changes.

Advanced Filters

For more targeted results, use the Advanced Filter feature to narrow recommendations by:

  • Health category (e.g., gut health, cardiovascular, mental health)
  • Specific topic (e.g., low mood, inflammation, pain)
  • Non-optimal labs
  • Quick Filters for symptoms, conditions & goals, or suboptimal lab markers

You can combine multiple filters for maximum specificity. For example, filter by "Gut Health" + "Low Mood" + "Non-Optimal Labs" to see only the recommendations that address all three.

Click Apply Filters to update the list.

Search

If filters aren't getting you to what you need, use the search bar. Type a keyword — a recommendation name, condition, or lab marker — and we'll show you exactly where it falls on your client's prioritized list.

Understanding a Recommendation

Click on any recommendation to see a detailed breakdown, including:

  • Which lab markers and genetic predispositions it addresses — prioritized by severity
  • Impact score — How significant the expected benefit is
  • Evidence score — The strength of the scientific evidence behind it
  • Supporting studies — Links to relevant research
  • Dosing, frequency & duration — Standard implementation guidance (when applicable)
  • Potential side effects & interactions
  • DNA, lifestyle, and lab components — A full picture of why this recommendation was suggested

To view all genetic factors targeted by a recommendation, click "Show all DNA predispositions."

To add a recommendation to your client's Action Plan, click the + icon.

Biohacker Mode

Biohacker Mode

Biohacker Mode is an optional setting that unlocks more experimental and exploratory topics — individual genes, neurotransmitters, amino acids, and emerging pathways. It's best suited for advanced practitioners or performance-focused clients who want to go deeper.

By default, Biohacker Mode is turned off to keep recommendations clinically conservative and based on human clinical research.

When enabled, you'll also see an option to include items without clinical trials — these are recommendations supported by animal studies, in-vitro research, or early-stage evidence. You can toggle this independently based on how evidence-strict you want to be.

  1. Start with the default ranked list to see the highest-impact recommendations
  2. Use filters to align with your session focus or the client's current priorities
  3. Review 2–5 recommendations together during the session
  4. Add selected items to the client's Action Plan for easy follow-up
  5. Use search to look up anything specific a client asks about

This keeps sessions focused, personalized, and easy for clients to follow.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data generates my client's recommendations? Genetic data is always the foundation. If you've also added lab results, intake forms, or lifestyle assessments, those inputs are factored in as well. The more complete the profile, the better the recommendations.

Can I prioritize current health issues over genetic predispositions? Yes. Use Advanced Filters to filter by suboptimal lab results, specific lab markers, or reported symptoms and conditions. This shifts the focus toward your client's immediate health status.

Are all recommendations backed by clinical research? When Biohacker Mode is off, yes — all recommendations are based on human clinical studies. Biohacker Mode introduces additional options with varying levels of evidence.

What's the difference between recommendations and the Action Plan? Recommendations are the full prioritized list of potential interventions. The Action Plan is the curated selection you and your client choose to actually implement. Think of recommendations as the menu and the Action Plan as the order.
