How to Create Action Plans for Your Clients

Action Plans help you turn personalized recommendations into a clear, structured roadmap that you and your client can follow together. They act as a practical “daily plan” for implementation, progress tracking, and follow-up.

Instead of sending scattered advice, Action Plans consolidate selected recommendations into one customizable, shareable sheet.

What Is an Action Plan?

An Action Plan is a client-specific plan that organizes selected recommendations by:

  • Day of the week
  • Time of day
  • Recommendation type (supplements, lifestyle, exercise, etc.)

Everything in the plan is editable, making it easy to tailor the experience to each client while keeping your workflow efficient.

How to Create an Action Plan

Option 1: Generate an Action Plan Automatically

If no Action Plan exists yet for a client:

  1. Open the Action Plan tab.
  2. Click Generate Action Plan.
  3. The system will automatically pull in top-ranked recommendations.

You can then reorganize, edit, or remove items as needed.

Option 2: Build an Action Plan Manually

You can add recommendations directly from your client's personalized Recommendations Page! This approach is ideal if you want full control over what the client works on first. Here are the instructions:

  1. Select Recommendations from the navigation.
  2. On this page, you will see the top recommendations based on your client's DNA (and lifestyle and lab results if applicable).

  1. Add your favorite recommendations to your client's Action Plan by selecting the + sign on the right:

Accessing Your Client's Action plan

Once you've added recommendations, you can access your client's Action Plan by:

  1. Selecting Recommendations > Action Plan from the navigation panel:

  1. To see all of the recommendations you and your client have added so far, select Whole Week:

  1. Select your preferred details for each recommendation.
    1. You can modify the duration and dosage of each lifestyle or supplement recommendation to suit your client's needs.
    2. You can also select the days of the week you want your client to implement that particular recommendation

  1. Once you are happy with your selections, you and your client can click on each individual day of the week to see a detailed breakdown of their Action Plan for that day:

Adding Notes for Clients

You can add notes to any recommendation in the Action Plan, such as:

  • Specific exercise guidance
  • Supplement brand suggestions
  • Practitioner tips or reminders
  • Affiliate links (if applicable)

Important:

Notes added this way apply only to the current client.

Using Default Recommendation Notes (Time Saver)

If you want a note to appear for all clients whenever a specific recommendation is used:

  1. Go to Professional Tools → Default Recommendation Notes.
  2. Select a recommendation.
  3. Add your note (text, links, instructions, etc.).

That note will automatically appear in the Action Plan for every client who has that recommendation—saving you from repeating the same instructions each time.

Reviewing, Downloading, and Sharing Action Plans

  • Use Weekly Review to see how the plan looks across the week.
  • Download the Action Plan as a PDF to share with clients.
  • Choose Custom PDF options to control what details are included.

This makes the Action Plan easy to use as a handout, follow-up document, or progress tracker between sessions.

Editing Action Plans Over Time

Action Plans are designed to evolve:

  • Remove recommendations as goals are achieved
  • Add new ones directly from the Recommendations list
  • Edit notes directly from Recommendations if the item is already in the plan

This keeps the plan aligned with your client’s progress without rebuilding it from scratch.
