Guide to preparing clients for Quest Lab appointments
Here's what your client needs before their appointment. If your client hasn't scheduled one yet, they can learn how to do it here.
- Please remember to send your client their lab requisition before they visit Quest. They can print it, or bring a digital version.
- The requisition can be found within your SelfDecode account on the My Orders page.
- Your client's lab order will look like the image below. If you do not have this paperwork, please reach out to us before you go to Quest.
2. Arrive Prepared!
- Encourage your client to wear a short-sleeve shirt or a shirt with sleeves that roll up easily.
- Encourage your client to bring ID that matches the information on their requisition.
- Fasting or other preparation may be required for some tests. Your client can find special instructions by searching for their lab test here.
- Fasting means that your client cannot eat or drink anything other than water 8-12 hours before their blood collection.
- Your client will not have to pay anything at the lab as everything has been paid for through SelfDecode. The Quest testing location will know this because our account number is on the lab order.
- When your results are ready, they will be uploaded to your SelfDecode account and we will email you to notify you of their arrival.
