Building meal plans for your clients
The Meal Plan Builder allows you to create personalized weekly meal plans for your clients. Complete with calorie tracking, macronutrient breakdowns, recipes, and grocery lists — all in one place!
1️⃣ Create a Custom Meal Plan
Once you open the Meal Plan Builder, you can:
- Choose meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for each day of the week.
- See a running total of daily and weekly calories to help you align the plan with your client’s goals — such as intense weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain.
You can mix and match recipes to create a balanced, goal-oriented plan.
2️⃣ View Nutrition and Genetic Insights
Each recipe shows:
- Calories per serving
- Macronutrient breakdown: carbs, fats, and protein
- Genetic-based nutritional highlights such as:
- “This meal is a source of folate”
- “This meal is a source of zinc”
To view the recipe details, click the blue “i” icon next to the meal. This opens a full view with:
- Ingredients
- Step-by-step instructions
- Nutrient and genetic benefit tags
3️⃣ Generate a Grocery List
Once your weekly plan is set, see the Grocery List section to view all the ingredients your client will need for the week.
- Easily copy the list for your client by selecting the blue double page icon.
- Quantities are automatically calculated based on the selected meals.
4️⃣ View and Prepare Recipes
To open a recipe directly from your plan:
- Go to the Meal Plan Builder.
- Click the day you’re viewing.
- Select Recipe & Details next to the meal you want to prepare.
This will bring up the full recipe view with nutritional insights and preparation instructions.
🖨️ Can I Print the Weekly Meal Plan?
Currently, the Meal Plan Builder does not have a built-in print option for full weekly meal plans.
However, you can:
- Copy the grocery list to share with your client, and
- Open and print each recipe page individually from your browser (File → Print).
💡 Pro Tip
Encourage your clients to log in to their own SelfDecode account so they can view their personalized meal plan and explore how each meal supports their genetic nutrient needs.
