SelfDecode DNA Collection: Cheek Swab or Saliva?
SelfDecode DNA kits use a buccal (cheek) swab, not saliva. The kit includes sterile, soft-tip swabs that gently collect DNA-rich cells from the inside of the cheek — a non-invasive, hassle-free collection method.
Cheek swab collection is:
- Highly reliable for DNA extraction.
- Simple and painless — no spitting or fluid measurement required.
- Suitable for all ages, including children and clients who have difficulty producing a saliva sample.
What If a Client Received a Saliva-Based Kit?
We no longer accept saliva sample DNA kits purchased before August 2024. If your client has an older kit, email support@promicsedge.com to purchase a replacement cheek swab kit at a reduced price.
