How to Update Your Account Preferences

Your account preferences control how DNA kits are distributed to your clients, which kit packaging you use, and whether you'll be uploading DNA files from other providers. You can update these at any time.

To update your preferences:

  1. Go to your Account Overview page: https://promicsedge.com/app/account#overview
  2. Click Change next to Your Preferences.
  3. Work through the four-step setup. Your answers affect the options available in your account.

You can also update your preferences during the bulk DNA kit order checkout.


Step 1: How would you like to distribute your PromicsEdge DNA Test Kits?

  • Send From PromicsEdge (recommended) — We store your kits in our warehouse and ship them directly to your clients when you request it. You don't need to keep inventory on hand.
  • Deliver From Your Office — We ship kits to your location in bulk, and you distribute them to clients yourself.

Step 2: What box would you like to use for your DNA test kits?

  • Branded (recommended) — Kits arrive in SelfDecode-branded packaging.
  • Unbranded — Kits arrive in plain, unbranded packaging. This option carries an additional cost per kit — see Professional Checkout and Pricing for current pricing.

Step 3: Will you be uploading DNA files from other providers?

  • No — You'll only use PromicsEdge DNA kits. This is recommended — PromicsEdge kits test 200 million genetic variants and are required for full feature compatibility.
  • Yes — You plan to upload existing DNA files from providers like 23andMe or AncestryDNA. Note that third-party files may not support all features and may produce less precise results.

Step 4: Confirm and finish

Review your selections and click Finish to save. You can return to these settings at any time via your Account Overview page.
